Five Element Intuitive Readings

Earth

Earth represents sustaining, maintaining, supporting, and nourishing ourselves in this life.

The Nature of Earth

  • Season: Late Summer (and the stabilizing transition periods between all seasons).
  • Flow of Qi: Center — acting as the hub of the wheel during times of change.
  • Weather & Colors: Dampness & Humidity | Yellow & Orange

Our Body & Earth

  • Organs & Senses: Spleen, Stomach (and Pancreas) | Mouth & Taste
  • Governs: Lymphatic system, lips, four limbs, and overall digestive health.
  • Physical Imbalances: Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), fibromyalgia, digestive issues, Lyme disease, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Our Mind & Earth

  • Primary Emotion: Sympathy
  • Secondary Emotions: Worry, overthinking, and rumination.
  • Core Need: Reciprocity — the healthy, even exchange of giving and receiving.

Earth’s Gifts

  • Nourishment & Satiation: The ability to digest not just food, but life experiences, leaving us feeling truly satisfied.
  • Community & Resilience: Hard-working, dependable, and capable of building strong, supportive bonds.
  • Grounded Pleasure: Enjoying life’s bounty — from a delicious meal to sensual comfort.

Habitual Tendencies (When Imbalanced)

  • Excess (Greed / Stubborn): One-sided relationships, directing attention and conversation back to yourself, digging heels in, or over-involving yourself in others’ lives.
  • Deficiency (Needy / Co-dependent): Looking outside yourself to fill an inner emptiness, craving sweets, or constantly seeking sympathy.

Earth’s Kryptonite: Burden

Earth types thrive on helping others, but their ultimate trap is feeling burdened—or believing they are a burden to others. Burden forms when reciprocity breaks down, leaving you giving 100% while receiving nothing in return.

Balancing Earth

  • Body: Eat cooked/warm foods (saves digestive Qi), eat meals at around the same time everyday, sip hot water, and enjoy vegetables like squash and sweet potatoes.
  • Mind: Practice naming and fulfilling your own needs first, cultivate equal give-and-take in relationships, and anchor into Integrity (Earth’s official virtue).
  • The Yi (Spirit of Earth): Yi means intellect. Our ability to take in, process, digest, assimilate, and retain life’s information and experiences. Our ability to take in and digest reality as it is. All education attained in this life is taken with us into heaven and into future lives.
